Posted on Feb 4th 2016 6:05 PM

Vargas Gallery, in collaboration with the Art Department of Vargas University, is proud to present Tailor Boat - Representation in Post-Modern Art by Antonio Guerrero (1968) Cuban American Artist.  The exhibit is curated by Henry Ballate.

Man versus nature escaping from political reality is the central topic in Guerrero’s exhibition. Figurative paintings and drawings by Antonio Guerrero come together in this major exhibition that explores the artist’s spiritual genealogy as it relates to his Cuban-based reality and drama of the exodus. Many generations of Cubans have been born and lived in the path of the exodus. Guerrero is one of those who climbed into a secretly designed raft and floated at sea for five days; It is here that this political consequence has found so much personal material for his artistic practices and confronting us with Tailor Boat, with the exodus, with never-ending human tragedy.
