​PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: 

1. Apply foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and disease processes to accurately interpret clinical documentation for billing and coding purposes.

2. Analyze and apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems across diverse healthcare settings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reimbursement integrity.

3. Evaluate healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including DRGs, APCs, RBRVS, and value-based payment models, to determine their impact on compliance, financial outcomes, and revenue cycle management.

4. Assess and resolve coding and billing compliance challenges by demonstrating professional judgment in addressing fraud, abuse, audit readiness, and ethical dilemmas in healthcare documentation. 

5. Create and communicate accurate coding reports and reimbursement documentation using electronic health records (EHRs), coding software, and office applications to support effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
